A new mission statement for 2012

04 January 2012

New year, new challenges and new objectives

At New Year it's traditional to make resolutions, think of the future and take stock.  At Hanover it's been no different and we are pleased to announce our new Mission Statement and Strategic Objectives which will shape the organisation's future.

The Mission Statement ("Enabling people to live secure, fulfilling and independent lives in their own home") and the associated objectives that follow on from this first saw the light of day back in August when the Association held it's biennial Strategy Conference. They reflect our core business of providing affordable, modern and safe housing and related support services mainly for older people.

Talking about Hanover's new objectives, Chief Executive Helen Murdoch said: "The coming year and subsequent years will not be short of challenges.  Whilst there are a certain amount of known factors that will affect us, the constantly changing economic situation will also no doubt introduce unknown factors that we will need to deal with."

"To build an organisation that is fit for the future, we need to be aware of known risks and flexible enough to cope with the unknown. Our objectives and strategies have been developed with great care to help us manage this and to ensure that Hanover is stronger and better equipped to deal with future challenges."
